Early age of  Joe Biden

Biden, who was born on November 20, 1942, grew up in the blue-collar city of Scranton in northeast Pennsylvania before rising to one of the country's highest political offices. His father, Joseph Biden Sr., worked as a used car dealer and cleaned furnaces. Catherine Eugenia "Jean" Finnegan was his mother.

Biden attributes his endurance, hard work, and perseverance to his parents. "Champ, the measure of a man is not how much he is knocked down, but how easily he gets up," he recalls his father saying.

As voters around the country cast their ballots, he said, "There is no doubt that there is over-the-top enthusiasm in the alumni community." “I would tell up and down our 20,000 students, not just the class of '89—which was her class. There's nothing but pride and joy in the air. It's difficult to have a discussion with an alumnus without Kamala's name coming up.”
